Maire and Mark Wedding at The Maryborough Hotel and Spa
Today I like to share a wedding at The Maryborough Hotel & Spa Cork. Thank you for the post Eve Kelliher you have done for Irish Examiner.
Wedding of the Week: Cruise ship co-workers Máire and Mark sail off into the sunset
By Eve Kelliher
It was on the deck of a ship that the paths of Limerick native Máire and Mark, from Co Clare, crossed. “We met on the cruise ship we currently both work on, the Holland America Line’s Nieuw Amsterdam” said Máire.
They got engaged in April 2017 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. “After calling to the city multiple times on the cruise ship we had both decided it was one of our favorite places,” said Máire. They were married in a humanist ceremony in the Maryborough Hotel & Spa in Douglas with Seamus de Burca officiating.
“Everything about the day was so special — we made sure we only had people who were special to us there and having Mark’s daughters as bridesmaids were so important to both of us. My sister and her fiancé had flown home from Vancouver, and we had friends traveling from the UK and all the way from Sydney.

Máire looked chic in a Pronovias wedding dress, with Mark in a stylish Louis Copeland suit. “After a long time of searching, I found the dress of my dreams, in Belladonna Bridal in Galway, where I went with my mum,” she said.
Aisling Kelleher of Polkadotdreaming was their wedding hairstylist and Dawn Ryan Fahey created the makeup looks. “They made everyone from age 13 to 66 feel beautiful and relaxed,” added Máire.
Photographer Nerijus Karmilcovas of K Photography and We.As.One Videography captured the occasion on camera.
“Jill Wilde did all our bouquets and all the ‘real’ flowers, while we had To Have and To Hold” said the bride.
“Tracy Desmond of Trace of Cakes did the most beautiful wedding cake for us.”
