K & S Elopement Wedding at The Minard Castle, Dingle co.Kerry Ireland
Back in January, I had the pleasure of working with Kari and Steven. However, this was no ordinary wedding. Let me start at the beginning. Kari and Steven both from beautiful Tennessee got engaged a number of months ago decided to elope to Ireland. They found destination wedding planner Yana from peach perfect weddings to help them plan their big day. It was through Yana I was found and hired as the wedding photographer. The sun shone brightly on beautiful Killarney and set the mood for what I knew was going to be an incredible and unique day. The Four Star International Hotel was to be the setting for the wedding preparations as Kari was helped get ready by local make – up artist Laura Boyle who provided a relaxed and comforting atmosphere, a must for any bride on her wedding day.
Wedding preparations complete it was time to get on the road to Dingle, a world famous coastal town nestled on the west coast of Ireland. With breathtaking views and its idyllic nature its no wonder Dingle was chosen to be the setting for Kari and Steven’s wedding.
Minard Castle was chosen by the couple as the location in which to exchange their vows. As soon as I arrived at the location I was completely blown away, the sun shone down on the crystal blue waters while the light wind leaped the waves against the rugged cliffs. The castle itself was haunting yet beautiful, and was without a doubt the perfect backdrop for some incredible shots. Celtic priest and monk Dara Molloy provided the couple with a beautiful and heart warming ceremony.
In typical Irish weather, the sun wasn’t to last and as soon as the couple had exchanged vows the rain started to fall tenderly. Having exchanged vows it was time to head into Dingle town for some more pictures. The laughs, love and pictures continued and as you can see from the pictures I really got to capture this couples unique personalities and incredible love for each other….which is one of my favourite parts of this job.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish them a lifetime full of happiness love and good health and want to thank them for allowing me to be part of this amazing journey. It was certainly a day I will never forget. I must also thank Yana for all her help encouragement and support for without her I would never have met Kari and Steven and gotten this opportunity. This wedding may have been my first elopement wedding but I hope it won’t be my last as it has really given me a thirst and ambition to try new things. Looking forward already to exciting new projects and opportunities.
Thank you guys for amazing feedback:
“Nerijus, is by far the most talented photographer I have ever had the privilege of meeting. My fiancé and I decided to elope to Ireland and throughout the entire process the pictures were the part that I was most nervous about. I wanted our family and friends to be able to experience our wedding through the photographs. Our Photographs were AMAZING, better than I ever could have dreamed!! Not only did Nerijus arrive on time the morning of the wedding but he was early. He showed my fiancé where we could buy umbrella, he was a witness at our wedding, and cheered us on throughout the wind, rain and hail. He went above and beyond throughout the entire day. I can’t even express how grateful we are for Nerijus, when we left Ireland we felt like we not only had an amazing photographer but also a friend.” – Kari & Steven
